Completed: September 2025 Serves: A community of 395 adults, plus a school with an enrollment of 541 students Let me share with you one of the most difficult challenges we have been facing with water. … One day, on one of the sunny days, the teachers told our class that it was our turn to fetch water. Do you know what we found? THE MUDDY POND HAD DRIED UP, AND THERE WAS NO WATER!!!! That day, all of us in the school never had our lunch since we failed to take water back to school. Because we could not study in the afternoon due to hunger, the head teacher decided to close the school early that day and told all of us to go back home. The following day, we had to fetch water twice the journey because that is where the teachers had identified a creek. We fetched water from that creek for almost two months until the next rainy season when all ponds started filling up again. But the journey was very long!!!! So now, with this borehole near our school, it will never dry up. We shall never fetch dirty water. We shall never walk long distances. … Please convey our sincere thanks to our good donors. Tell them we are very grateful, and we pray that God blesses them 100 times. — John Paul, Primary 7 Class A summary of what the children are singing:
We are so happy to have good people who can help the needy people. We are so thankful for this water source. It comes from people who have big hearts. Completed: September 2025
Serves: A community of 418 adults, plus a school with an enrollment of 584 students “We have been lacking a good water source; the one we have been using is so so bad, and on top of that, we have been walking very long distances to fetch water. Tell our donors that all the pupils in St. Samaria Primary School will pray for you always. Since the borehole is right within our school compound, every time we see it, we shall be remembering them. … Thank you very much and WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH, DEAR DONORS." — Christopher, Primary 7 Class Completed: September 2025
Serves: A community of 411 adults, plus a school with an enrollment of 631 students I hated going to school, especially on days I knew it was my class’s turn to fetch water for the school meals. The distance where we fetched water was very long from our school. Also, the water was very dirty because of the cows and sheep that stepped in it every day to drink the same water we people also used. And the moment you could find those animals already in the pond, you could wait for hours until they finish drinking and leave. This implied missing lessons almost all the day. We therefore thank you, dear donors, for this borehole because we shall never share this water source with those animals. This water source will always remain for human beings only and therefore clean and safe for us to use. Even, I promise not to hate school anymore as I have been before, because you have removed the problem that was making me dodge school some of the days. Thank you very much; we are so grateful. — Simon Peter, Primary 6 Class Completed: September 2025
